Who we are

TUPO (meaning “we are in “implying inclusion of children, youth & women in development) is a Non- Government Organisation with focus to promote women, youth and children welfare.

The organisation was founded in 2016 by Social workers worked voluntarily.   Since her inception TUPO engaged in technical advisory on social economic development, mentoring and psycho social support applying constellation as the organizing principle of her project to serve women, children, youth and the community.   TUPO’s thematically focus is to promote child, youth and women development across the country with special attention to children, youth and women living with disabilities.  Whereby key focus areas include: Enhance Women socio economic development; Promote Child and Youth development; Community empowerment; and Institutional strengthening.

Based in Arusha (Headquarters) one of the Cities in Tanzania, TUPO is further committed to work with poor communities in Tanzania to promote, children, youth, women’s development.  TUPO” s geographical working coverage regions includes all Tanzania mainland regions however initial organisation interventions covered Arusha and Mbeya (sub-office) regions.

Our Mission
TUPO exists to contribute to improvement of child. youth and women welfare through policy and community engagement, community economic empowerment, and institutionalization of strategies to prevent, rescue, rehabilitate and integration mechanisms for vulnerable and affected children, youth and women.

The mission and programming areas of TUPO is further realized through the desired impact in protecting women, youth and children, and in particular girls and those living with disabilities from all source of abuse at the national, and community levels. Engage Local authorities and the public in supporting the organization to curb injustice to children, women and youth building.

TUPO also fosters intercultural understanding and community engagement through its Student Cultural Exchange Program. This program offers international students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the local culture by:

Hosting: Living with local families for 7-14 days to experience daily life firsthand.
Community Programs: Participating in volunteer activities and workshops that address social issues such as education, health, and environmental conservation.
Tourism: Exploring the region’s cultural heritage sites, natural wonders, and vibrant cities.

Through these experiences, international students gain valuable insights into different cultures, develop cross-cultural communication skills, and contribute positively to the local community.
