Pastoralist Women & Agroecology

Supporting rural and pastoralist women to integrate pastoralism and agroecological practices for climate resilience, food security, and sustainable livelihoods is central to RWA Tanzania.

Through our Agroecology Learning Hub, we build widespread awareness of sustainable, organic farming practices to combat climate shocks. The hub serves as a practical training centre for indigenous seed multiplication, giving women direct control over drought-resistant, local seed varieties. By mastering soil health, water conservation, and seed sovereignty, agropastoralist women actively secure community food systems, restore vital rangelands, and transform subsistence farming into resilient, self-sustaining enterprises.
